HUBS LISBON AZAMBUJA, 2020
Inserted into a development strategy for the Municipality of Azambuja, this project aims to contribute to the dynamisation of the region through the creation of an innovation and entrepreneurship hub.
This new place for the exchange of ideas, start-ups, training companies and talent is set within an urban context with a privileged relationship with the Tagus River and the green plains of the Lezírias, where the upgrading of road and cycling routes contributes to sustainable mobility. By attracting investment from companies involved in the economic and social development of the region, this creative hub, located 30–35 minutes from Lisbon, seeks to become an active agent in the transformation of this territory through job creation, conditions for youth settlement and the promotion of new businesses that combine creativity and entrepreneurship within a set of spaces that foster human interaction.
This intervention proposal for a former industrial building composed of two nave-like volumes and another regular two-storey volume promotes the creation of a set of spaces with high flexibility for area adaptation and privacy control. Some of the main spaces planned for this project include: entrance reception, co-working areas, auditoriums, work and meeting rooms, cafeteria, outdoor lounge and a rooftop.
