In an area of more than 12,000m², we propose the requalification of the public space.
The intervention organises a new way of moving both along the longitudinal crossing of Rio de Mouro Velho, through Rua Joaquim Correia de Freitas and Rua José Cupertino Ribeiro, and in the way circulation takes place within the settlement, which will be simplified and made one-way. In both cases, the objective is to provide greater safety and comfort for people. The space is predominantly pedestrian in character. The standardisation of cross-sections and materials supports the intervention, together with new lighting and urban furniture.
A new definition of vehicular circulation, public transport and its stops is proposed, as well as restrictions on parking and traffic, alongside the reorganisation of the parking system.
The intervention proposes the reuse of all existing stone paving, through its reinstatement.
This urban regeneration intervention will contribute to significant improvements in the quality of public space, through the upgrading and renewal of infrastructure and, consequently, the enhancement of the urban fabric, public and leisure spaces, green areas, as well as the valorisation of open spaces.
